Final Stand v0.5 – Alpha Patch 1 Announcement
Hello @everyone! We're proud to release Final Stand version 0.5, the first official patch of our Alpha Launch (not including hotfixes)!
This patch has been in the works for a few weeks, and I'd like to give a shoutout to @gttgw for driving the development of this update. He's done a great job, so please drop him a 👏 reaction!
The name of the game for this patch was Quality of Life changes and cleaning up some of the mess from v0.4. Listening to the community's feedback (and feeling the pain ourselves), we've walked back some of the nerfs to unshakeable and addressed missed edge cases. All characters now stand up faster after knockback to reduce stun-locking frustration.
We've also expanded access to knockdown resistance traits for melee builds. New QoL changes grant knockback immunity for some melee characters upon successful melee hits, which helps smooth out core engine limitations and make melee more viable and satisfying.
New Knockback Resistance Tiers:
- Sturdy: Immune to normal small arms, instant bombs, and charge effects.
- Steadfast: Immune to heavier arms such as explosives and heavy weapons. Vulnerable to boss abilities and delayed explosives.
- Unshakeable: Matches original Last Stand behavior—only levitation effects (e.g., Chaos Lord’s drain life) can interrupt.
We’re doing this to correct previous expectation mismatches around the “Unshakeable” label, making combat feel less arbitrary. In parallel, we've cleaned up enemies like Fire Prisms that were over-delivering knockback effects.
Lastly, we’ve increased line-of-sight radius for all heroes to prevent frustrating situations like being sniped by unseen enemies.
Once again, thank you all for your attention and support. We’re thrilled to have such a vibrant, active, and welcoming community. We’re looking forward to sharing even more with you in the coming weeks.
See you on the battlefield! 🛡️
